MSU football landed a commitment from Western Kentucky freshman transfer running back Marvis Parrish. After his visit to Michigan State on Jan. 6 and Jan. 7, he committed to the Spartans on Wednesday.
He will still three years of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career.
Parrish was the ace in the Hilltoppers' backfield 2025, leading the team with 576 rushing yards and one touchdown on 105 carries. He also tallied 36 receptions for 203 yards and another score. Parrish played in all 12 regular-season games last fall and starred in a New Orleans Bowl victory against Southern Miss in December, rushing seven times for 65 yards and one touchdown.
With a successful true freshman campaign, Parrish received multiple honors within Conference USA in 2025:
2025 Conference USA All-Freshman Team
2025 Conference USA Freshman of the Week (Oct. 6)
2025 Conference USA Freshman of the Week (Aug. 25)
The 5-foot-11, 196-pound Parrish played 352 offensive snaps as a true freshman this past season, according to Pro Football Focus. He recorded an overall offensive grade of 70.9, which raked as the seventh-highest for WKU and a rushing grade of 78.2 (ranking fourth on the team).
A former three-star recruit out of Londes High School in Georgia, Parrish committed to Western Kentucky in December 2024 and enrolled at Western Kentucky in January of 2025. As mentioned, Parrish saw significant playing time for the Hilltoppers as a true freshman as he debuted his skill set this past fall.
The addition of Parrish puts competition for the Spartans' running back depth chart in motion with the returns of Brandon Tullis, Jace Clarizio, Zion Gist and Bryson Williams. Additionally, Michigan State also added a commitment from UConn transfer running back Cam Edwards, who is expected to play a large role in 2026.
Including Parrish and Edwards, Michigan State has now added 17 public transfer portal commitments, with more expected soon. Keep up with all the incoming and outgoing MSU players here.
