Michigan State Transfer Portal Tracker 2025-2026: EDGE Stone Chaney intends to enter
Track all of Michigan State's offseason transfer portal tracker activity here.
After a 4-8 (1-8 in Big Ten play) season, Michigan State fired head coach Jonathan Smith on Sunday, Nov. 30. Smith spent two seasons in East Lansing. MSU named Pat Fitzgerald as its new head coach on Monday, Dec. 1.
As such, there will be a lot of transfer portal activity for MSU in terms of both players transferring into the program and out of the program ahead of the 2026 season.
The NCAA has made changes to transfer portal windows this year. There is no longer a spring window, and instead, there will be a two-week span from Jan. 2 through Jan. 16 in which players can enter the portal. Additionally, a 15-day window is available for players on teams that have had a head coaching change, which begins five days after a new coach is hired, however, that rule only goes into the effect if a new hire happens after Jan. 2. Fitzgerald was hired before then.
Spartans Illustrated will track each of the portal entrants from Michigan State's current roster, and track each of the newcomers expected to transfer into the program ahead of the 2026 season.
Note: Just because a player enters the transfer portal does make it certain they will leave their current school. Players who enter the transfer portal can return to their original school if they so choose.
