Belleville East cornerback James Johnson committed to Cincinnati late last night becoming the fourth commit on Sunday. Johnson was on campus for his official visit this weekend. Late May, he dropped his Top 5 of Nebraska, Utah, Missouri, West Virginia and Cincinnati.
The 6'3", 185 pound cornerback is labeled a safety on all the recruiting sites that have him marked as a three star prospect. He is the second cornerback to commit on Sunday and the third member of the defensive back field.
Per 247 Sports Composite rankings he is the 856th player in the nation and 30th player in the state of Illinois.
The Bearcats are now sitting at 10 commits for the 2027 class.
