The Cincinnati Bearcats made three star safety James Johnson's Top 5 today. Cincinnati joined Utah, Nebraska, Missouri and West Virginia. The 6'3", 190 pound safety from Belleville, Illinois is a member of the 2027 class. He is labeled a three star recruit by On3 and 247 Sports.
I have seen Johnson labeled as a wide receiver, but all of his ranking are on the defensive side of the ball. The Bearcats are in the mix with other Power 4 schools, so it will be interesting how this plays out.
Johnson doesn't have a commit date lined up, but with him narrowing down his programs I wouldn't be shocked if he has a commit plan around the middle of the summer.
