WBB: Bearcats complete 18 point comeback against Arizona State with Crawford steal and layup, 66-64

The Cincinnati Bearcats welcomed the Arizona State Sun Devils into Fifth Third Arena ahead of snowmageden on Saturday. The game was originally set for 2 pm, but it was moved up to noon to try to beat the inclement weather.
The Bearcats were down 18 points in first quarter, but by the half cut the lead down to 2, 31-29. Arizona State caused 15 turnovers and scored 11 points off of them, you have to give the Bearcats credit for not allowing more off of those mishaps.
Timely plays by Mya Perry, Caliyah DeVillasee and Kylie Torrence kept the Bearcats within reach late in the game. After a Torrence turnover with less than 30 seconds left in the game while tied at 64, Crawford came up with the game winning steal and bucket to put the Bearcats up 66-64 with 2.4 seconds left.
DeVillasee had 15 points, six rebounds and three assists. Perry had 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and fouled out. Torrence had 13 points and nine rebounds. Crawford finished with six points.
The Bearcats won the battle on the glass 48-31, despite having 21 turnovers only six in the second half.
Arizona State was led by Gabby Elliott with 19 points, five rebounds and six assists, McKinna Brackens had 18 points, six rebounds and three assists. Heloisa Carrera had 11 points and Cincinnati native Deborah Davenport had eight points and six rebounds.
Cincinnati goes to 8-13 overall and 3-6 in the Big 12 and Arizona State is now 17-4 overall and 4-4 in the Big 12.
They will face Houston February 1st at 3 pm in Houston.
