Bearcats add 6'7" center Zourfaou Garba to 2026 class
Per GoBearcats:
University of Cincinnati women’s basketball head coach Katrina Merriweather announced the signing of Zourfaou “Zou” Garba.
Garba, a 6-foot-7 center from Cotonou, Benin, will be the tallest player in program history and adds a strong shot-blocking and interior scoring presence to the Bearcats’ frontcourt.
"The first time I met Zou, I appreciated her immediate gratitude for the opportunity to be a Bearcat," said Merriweather. "As our game continues to evolve, we are excited to add a player with height and a unique skillset to our post play. We look forward to Zou’s development and her potential to add depth to our post position and protect the paint. We’re excited to add another quality individual to The Sisterhood."
Garba competed at Mt. Zion Prep Academy in 2025-26.
She has represented Team Benin on the international stage, including at the 2024 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup. She also participated in the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders for South Africa.
Garba joins Cincinnati’s incoming freshman class, which also includes guard Jaidyn Gunter (McKinney, Texas).
