Utah State's Jerrod Calhoun to become the Cincinnati head coach
Jerrod Calhoun returns to Cincinnati, this time as their new head coach
The Cincinnati Bearcats have found their new head coach as they tabbed Utah State's Jerrod Calhoun. Calhoun has kilt it at Utah State going 55-15 during his two seasons, making the NCAA Tournament both seasons. He spent 2017-2024 at Youngstown State posting a 118-106 record, he spent 2012-17 at Fairmont State.
Details of the deal aren't out yet, but once they are TFON will report the update.
Update Per GoBearcats: Calhoun’s deal is a six-year contract, pending board approval. It will pay him $3.7 million in the first year with an annual raise of $100,000.
Calhoun is from the Bob Huggins tree as he was a student assistant from 2003-2004 (Cincinnati), as he graduated in Clifton.
Wes Miller was relieved of his duties March 13th after five seasons at the helm, will the alum be able to restore the post season feeling for the Bearcats?
Note:
Reports are that Calhoun had a jump of 800k to $2.4 million in NIL at Utah State, sounds like at Cincinnati he will be working with a pool of over $8 million.
