Cincinnati are expected to hire Army's Nate Woody as their new defensive coordinator
Reported by BCJ's Chad Brendel, the Cincinnati Bearcats will are expected to hire Army's defensive coordinator Nate Woody to become their new defensive coordinator. After the season Tyson Veidt left to go Penn State to rejoin Matt Campbell and become their linebackers coach. With the void since after the Liberty Bowl, some thought it could be an internal move, but it seems they will get outside help to improve on a unit that left a lot to be desired in 2025.
If he can get UC unit to look similar to his Army unit a lot of fans will be happy.
Woody is known to run a 3-4 defense, which will be a welcomed sight after have to watch the 3-3-5 not suite us well the last two years.
He has been Army's defensive coordinator since 2020, before Army he was at Michigan as a defensive analyst for 2019, Georgia Tech defensive coordinator in 2018, 2013-2017 Appalachian State defensive coordinator (inside/outside linebacker coach).
