Neil's Offensive Game Balls from the Bearcats 49-17 victory over Oklahoma State
Scott Satterfield and the Bearcats clinched bowl eligibility on Saturday night following their dominant 49-17 victory over Oklahoma State.
The Bearcats offense has been humming this season as they have now scored on 27 consecutive trips to the redzone.
Now, for Brendan Sorsby and the Bearcats offense, they were firing on all cylinders on Saturday night after scoring a touchdown on the team's first four possessions of the game. However, the offense hit a wall for majority of the third quarter until Brendan Sorsby found Jeff Caldwell for a huge completion on 3rd-and-16 to move the chains and spark some new light late in the game.
The Bearcats racked up 427 yards of total offense on Saturday night, with 270 coming in the passing game, while Cincinnati rushed for 157 yards on the night. It all started with the play of quarterback Brendan Sorsby, who did a great job commanding the offense early and finding ways to get his skill guys in some space, between the likes of Cyrus Allen, Jeff Caldwell and Joe Royer. That allowed the Cincinnati run game to open up for guys like Evan Pryor and Tawee Walker, but also allowed Cincinnati to use some misdirection plays for guys like Allen and Pryor.
"That was a fun one tonight. I thought we did a good job of putting it on Oklahoma State early," Brendan Sorsby told reporters. "We still have to find a way to come out of the half a little faster. We clean up those mistakes, and we will be great moving forward. We will celebrate being bowl eligible until tomorrow. We have to find a way to keep stacking days. Our guys aren't satisfied though. We have to be at our best one week at a time. At the end of the day our goal is to be in Dallas playing for a Big 12 Championship."

Brendan Sorsby, quarterback
The veteran quarterback continued to showcase why he is one of the top quarterbacks within all of the Big 12. Sorsby completed 20 of his 29 passes on Saturday night, for 270 yards and three touchdowns through the air. He then finished the night with six carries for 17 yards and a touchdown as well. However, for Sorsby, he has continued to sit back and take what the opposing defenses have given him and done a great job at not forcing anything to his skill players and continues to limit the turnovers since the Nebraska game back in week one.
Sorsby joined some elite company on Saturday night, becoming just one of five quarterbacks to since 2018 to have six or more consecutive games where he recorded two or more touchdowns and zero interceptions. The other guys to accomplish that feat over the last seven years has been Devin Leary (NC State), Trevor Lawerence (Clemson), Justin Fields (Ohio State), and Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama).
Cyrus Allen, wide receiver
The Texas A&M transfer continues to play the villain for opposing defense and Oklahoma State had a firsthand look at its last night. Allem recorded a total of three touchdowns on the evening, all in which came in the first half. However, what makes Allen such a unique and dynamic weapon for Cincinnati is his ability to get shifty in the open space and his blazing track speed. Cincinnati used him in all different facets last night, weather that was out wide, in the run game, or whatever it may have been, he continues to showcase why he is one of the best receivers in the Big 12.
Allen told me earlier this season he likes to play villain and that he felt there was nobody that could stop him on the field. He proved just that on Saturday night after racking in three touchdowns, which is his second multi touchdown game of the season.
He finished the game with three catches, for 37-yards, two touchdowns, while rushing for 17 yards and a touchdown on two carries.
"I was in Brendan's ear a little last week after having just one catch vs Central Florida. I was kind of salty about it. However, I know I have to go take advantage of every touch I get," said Allen. "It is rewarding to see all of our hard work pay off. This is my first time actually working this hard. It felt like coach Niko was going to send us to war this offseason with how hard he continued to push us."
Joe Royer, tight end
The senior tight end had arguably his best game of the season on Saturday night. Royer finished with a season high five receptions for 63-yards and a touchdown in the Bearcats victory. However, for Royer, it was nice to see him finally break one of those long touchdowns runs after being caught down from behind twice early in the season. Cincinnati was looking for a breakout game from Royer, and it was only a matter of time due to how many weapons Cincinnati has on offense, but again on Saturday night, Royer proved why he is one of the best tight ends prospects within the 2026 NFL Draft class.
