The Firebirds traveled to Barnitz Stadium to take on the Middies who were riding great momentum with a 4 game win streak after starting off 0-2. The Middies were looking to keep their hot streak going against the Firebirds and extend their win streak to 5, which only the Princeton Vikings have done so far in the Greater Miami Conference.

The Middies fans showed up in purple attire cheering for their team despite the chilly weather as the game kicked off at 7 p.m.

The game started off with the Middies receiving the ball first but they would quickly punt going 3 and out. The Firebirds got the ball and immediately started moving the ball on the Middies defense.

The Firebirds used their star running back Kenyon Norman to get their first score of the game as he ran for a 19 yard touchdown making it 7-0 Firebirds in the 1st quarter.

The Middies were unable to get anything going on offense as a sack by Firebirds linebacker Judah Blair would force another punt giving the Firebirds the ball back.

The Firebirds were unable to score this time but the Middies rough day would continue after they got the ball back again.

Firebirds defensive back Karson Jordan dropped an interception by Middies quarterback Gavin Nolan and the Middies were forced to punt again.

This time the punt would be blocked by the Firebirds giving them great field position starting at the Middies 17 yard line.

The Firebirds knew who to give the ball in the red zone as Norman got the handoff and dashed past the Middies defenders scoring his second touchdown making it 14-0 Firebirds.

The wounds didn’t stop for the Middies as their next possession included almost fumbling and then a turnover on downs.

The Firebirds would proceed to score again with a touchdown pass thrown by Jackson Smith to Karmelo Jordan making it 21-0 Firebirds at halftime.

The 3rd quarter started and Jordan continued his big day catching multiple dots from Smith. Smith would be picked off by DJ Bryant in a much needed momentum swing for the Middies.

The Middies were not able to capitalize off this turnover and Blair would get his second sack of the night.

After another Middies punt Norman would drive the Firebirds down the field and punch in his third touchdown of the night making it 28-0 Firebirds.

Norman would finish his superb night with a fourth touchdown making it 35-0 Firebirds as the 3rd quarter wrapped up.

Neither team scored in the 4th quarter as the Firebirds defense pitched a shut out against the Middies winning 35-0.

Norman continues to make a claim for being the best player in the GMC with 147 carries for 1181 yards and 20 touchdowns in just 7 games.

The Firebirds now 6-1, look to keep the momentum going with their second straight win after losing a nail biter to the Vikings. The Middies fall to 4-3, and look to bounce back against Lakota East next Friday.
