Illinois State linebacker Patrick Bauer transfers to Cincinnati

Today, the Cincinnati Bearcats got a commitment from Illinois State transfer linebacker Patrick Bauer. Bauer is a 6'3", 235 pound linebacker from Mount Prospect, Illinois. He will have two years of eligibility remaining, he spent his first three seasons at Illinois State. In 2025, he had 67 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two interceptions, five quarterback hits and a touchdown.
Bauer is the third linebacker to commit to Cincinnati, joining Filip Maciorowski and Damaine Wilson. With the last additions, the linebacker room is becoming a strong point on defense.
