Former Utah State guards MJ Collins and Kolby King could play for Cincinnati?
Will the Bearcats get to add Collins and King?
Pete Nakos of On3 reported that Utah State guard MJ Collins will play for Cincinnati if granted a fifth year of eligibility, with the new 5 for 5 rules. If granted eligibility this would be a huge grab for the Bearcats and Jerrod Calhoun.
Bearcat Bunch posted snippets of the lawsuit that showed former Utah State guard Kolby King if made eligible will play for Cincinnati as well.
Collins averaged 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists on 48.7% from the field, 36.1% from 3 and 81.0% from the field last season. The 6’4”, 195 pound, guard would be a key piece in the rotation possibly taking minutes from Akai Fleming and Trevian Carson.
Collins was 2nd team All-MVC last season (Mountain West Conference).
King averaged 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists on 47.7% from the field, 39.3% from 3 and 74.7% from the line.
The 6’1”, 185 pound guard played in 36 games, no starts, would be a rotational piece for Cincinnati.
From notes everything has to be in by July 31, 2026. I’m guessing we will know if both will be apart of the roster by the end of August.
