Former Stanford RB Cole Tabb Commits to Cincinnati

Stanford RB Cole Tabb Commits to Cincinnati.

By Neil Meyer

Moments ago, Cincinnati received their fourth commitment via transfer portal after former Stanford running back Cole Tabb announced he will be heading to Cincinnati according to CBS's Matt Zenitz

Tabb, a former four star recruit out of Fort Walton Beach, Florida spent the last two years at Stanford where he racked up a career high 448 yards and three touchdowns this past season as a redshirt freshman. His best game of the 2025 season came against Florida State, where he racked up a career high 118 yards on 28 attempts in the Cardinals 20-13 victory. However, he shared carries this past season alongside sophomore running back Micha Ford, who led the team in rushing.

Coming out of high school, Tabb was rated as the 700th ranked player in the class of 2024 where he held reported offers from Kansas, Stanford, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky and many more.

The 5'8", 200-pound running back brings more of the explosive power back usage that Cincinnati has seen in recent years from guys like Corey Kiner and Tawee Walker. Now, he will join a backfield featuring Manny Covey, Zion Johnson, Jakorian Caffey and Notre Dame transfer Gi'Bran Payne. The expectation as of right now is that Payne and Tabb will be more of the power backs while Johnson and Covey will be featured as the speed backs with the opportunity to be involved more so in the passing game.
