Former Cincinnati guard Day-Day Thomas has inked a summer league deal with the Boston Celtics after going undrafted in last week's NBA Draft.

Thomas spent the last three years at the University of Cincinnati where he quickly became a fan favorite for many. Thomas played in 100 career games as a Bearcat where he averaged nearly 11 points and three assists throughout his career. The veteran guard started his career on the JUCO route before joining the Bearcats in 2023 prior to the inaugural season in the Big 12.

The Bishopville, South Carolina native flashed his abilities on both ends of the court, especially on the defensive end. Thomas quickly grew into Cincinnati's best on ball defender over the last two seasons to say the least as he averaged two steals per game throughout his career. Thomas quickly drew the number assignment for Wes Miller over the last two season. He was never scared to sit down and defend vs an elite scorer, especially in recent years which propelled Cincinnati to some big-time wins over the last three seasons. Some games that come to mind you ask, the relentless defensive clinic vs TCU back in 2023-2024, The home win vs Iowa State this past season. Thomas also caught fire in the opening round of the 2024 Big 12 Championships, where he exploded for a career high 29 points in the Bearcats quarterfinal win over West Virginia.

Thomas, also flashed his ability to impact games on the offensive end, scoring over 1,000 career points over the span of three seasons. The crafty guard saw his game elevate to new heights over the last three years, but most importantly the last year, as he capped off his Bearcat career with career highs in points, assists, rebounds and blocks as a senior.

Now, for Thomas, he will join Celtics second round draft pick and former Bearcat Dillon Mitchell out in Vegas as members of the Celtics Summer league team.

Congratulations to Day-Day on the incredible opportunity to earn his stripes and get to the NBA,
