Jerrod Calhoun and the Bearcats have officially entered the chat for a highly touted three-star power forward.

Earlier this afternoon, three-star power forward Davis Cochran announced his top eight schools, which included the likes of Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Clemson and Virginia.

The 6'9" power forward is currently listed as the 154th ranked player in the class of 2027 according to 247 sports. However, the Brentwood, Tennessee native has quickly seen his recruitment skyrocket over the recent months after a stellar junior season. Cochran averaged nearly 22 points and ten rebounds per game on a 60% clip in 2025-2026 as a junior at Brentwood High School.

Jerrod Calhoun and company extended an offer to the local three-star talent back on June 3rd, before quickly getting Cochran and his family to campus for an official visit that took place from June 14th-16th.

Cochran possesses a great feel for the game at his size, standing 6'9", he can move very well for his size and has a knack for scoring the ball. He shot 60% from the field as a junior but flashed his ability to shoot the deep ball at a high rate. He also has a great inside out game where he is comfortable playing in the post and around the basket.

The highly touted three-star prospect is set to take an official visit to Kansas State here in the upcoming weeks according to his social media. However, for Cincinnati, it appears Jerrod Calhoun and the Bearcats are firmly in the mix. Now, will they be able to hold off local programs like Tennessee and Vanderbilt with hopes of landing their next prospect to pair alongside 2027 four-star Kam Mercer? Only time will tell.
