Bearcats P Max Fletcher named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week

Cincinnati redshirt junior punter Max Fletcher has been named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance against UCF on Saturday.

In the 20-11 win vs. the Knights, Fletcher did a remarkable job of flipping the field and helping UC win the field position battle. He placed four of his five punts inside the 15-yard line and finished the game with a 41.2 average.

Fletcher pinned UCF with a punt down at the 2-yard line to effectively seal the game with one minute left.

Over the last two weeks, he has had punts down at the 1-yard line (vs. Iowa State) and at the 2-yard line (vs. UCF). In four Big 12 games, eight of his 11 punts have been down inside the 20.

Thanks to Fletcher’s performance this year, Cincinnati ranks eighth in the country in net punting (44.79).
