Today, Cincinnati Bearcats freshman guard Shon Abaev announced he attends to enter the transfer portal. The transfer portal opens April 7th, so I'm sure others will be joining the talented freshman. He was a Top 30 player in the 2025 class.
The 6'8", 210 pound freshman will have three years remaining. He is the first Bearcat from the old roster to announce his intentions to enter the portal.
He played in 24 games averaging 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 33.5% from the field. The freshman battled an ankle injury late in the season, but the year didn't go as planned for the McDonald's All-American. He showed flashes of playmaking and shot making at times, but not to the level most expected once he arrived on campus.
