Akron transfer guard Eric Mahaffey commits to Cincinnati
Moeller grad Eric Mahaffey returns home

Tonight, the Cincinnati Bearcats got a commitment from Akron transfer guard Eric Mahaffey. Mahaffey is a 6'6", 200 pound guard from Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Moeller in 2024.
After missing 2024-25 due to a medical redshirt, in the 2025-26 season he made the All-MAC Freshman team.
Last season stats, he averaged 7.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists on 53.0% from the field, 39.1% from 3 and 76.3% from the line.
After losing Tyler McKinley to the portal, the Bearcats add a local talent in Mahaffey.
Mahaffey is joining Riley Allenspach, Tyler Tejada, Myles Colvin and David Iweze as transfers in for Jerrod Calhoun.
The Cincinnati native will have three years of eligibility remaining.
