TEMPE – Molly Miller earned her first victory over archrival Arizona on Wednesday night, coaching ASU women’s basketball to a 68-61 win in Tempe.

The Sun Devils improved to 18-4 overall and 5-4 in Big 12 play, while the Wildcats fell to 10-10 overall and 1-8 in Big 12 play.

Sixth-year senior guard Gabby Elliot led all players with 22 points, her seventh outing this season, surpassing the 20-point mark. Elliot has eclipsed double figures in every Big 12 game this season. It was her first experience with the rivalry, but Elliot met the moment.

“You don’t even say their (Arizona) name here,” Elliot said. “It’s ‘the team down South’... It’s a true rivalry here. It’s bigger than just basketball.”
