ASU MBB: Three players to watch this season

Arizona State men's basketball opens its season tonight against Southern Utah at Desert Financial Arena. Here are three players to watch this season for the Sun Devils in Bobby Hurley's 11th season at the helm.

Arizona State basketball tips off the 11th year of the Bobby Hurley era in Tempe tonight at 7 p.m. local time in the Valley. Hurley’s Sun Devils enter the 2025-26 campaign with a new look roster, only returning sophomore guard Trevor Best from last year’s squad.

Best averaged 3.6 points per game in 11 appearances last year, for an ASU squad that went 13-20 overall and 4-16 in its inaugural season of Big 12 play.

There are several projected key contributors to introduce to Sun Devil fans this season, but here are three in particular that should be standouts as Arizona State looks to make a push to get back to the NCAA Tournament for what would be the second time in four seasons.

Maurice (Moe) Odum (#5)

Maurice (Moe) Odum was arguably the best pickup that the Sun Devils pulled from the transfer portal this offseason. The senior from the Bronx, New York, spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Pacific before transferring to Pepperdine for his junior season.
