Arizona State WBB beats Arizona for third time this season
Arizona State women's basketball beat rival Arizona for the third time this season in Big 12 tourney opener.

KANSAS CITY – Arizona State women’s basketball (23-9, 9-9) beat rival Arizona (12-18, 3-15) in the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament on Wednesday in Kansas City. It was a back-and-forth game, with neither team winning a quarter by more than a single point. The Sun Devils held on, winning 54-51.
Arizona jumped out to a 10-2 lead, but ASU didn’t waver.
This season was ASU women’s basketball’s first 20-win season since the 2019-20 season, when they went 20-11.
