TRACKER: Which transfer portal players are visiting Michigan State?
The transfer portal window is open for players to enter from now through Jan. 16. Here are the players who are set to visit East Lansing.
There have been changes to the transfer portal structure this year. Beginning in 2026, there is only one notification-of-transfer window, which runs from Jan. 2 through Jan. 16.
This is the period during which players may officially enter the transfer portal, allowing them to communicate directly with other schools and take campus visits.
Previously, the NCAA permitted two transfer windows. Under the new rules, the 2026 window is limited to 15 days, and the spring window has been eliminated entirely.
While the portal is open from Jan. 2 through Jan. 16, players are not required to commit to or enroll at a new school within that timeframe. The window simply governs when a player must submit their name to the portal. That said, players hoping to enroll in January and participate in spring practices will face a compressed timeline to finalize decisions and complete enrollment.
At Michigan State, the spring semester begins on Jan. 12, though students are able to add and drop classes through Jan. 16, providing a narrow but workable window for midyear transfers.
With that context in mind, Spartans Illustrated will use this article to track all known transfer portal prospects who are scheduled to visit Michigan State during this cycle. This article will be updated continuously as new information becomes available.
