'Together and Connected' - Tom Izzo proud that Michigan State delivered at Mackey
The Spartans leaned on collective poise and late-game execution to earn a 76–74 road win over Purdue

If Michigan State is going to make a meaningful run in March, it will not be because it overwhelms opponents with superior talent. It will be because it functions as a unit.
“We’re not as talented as some teams you’ve seen us have over the years,” Tom Izzo said after Thursday’s 76–74 win at Mackey Arena. “But we are - I said, for two years - I’ve been the luckiest guy in America. We’re together and connected. And together and connected does a lot.”
In a venue where Michigan State has rarely left with a victory, that identity carried the Spartans through one of their most complete road performances of the season.
The win was not built on domination in any single category.
