Michigan State sophomore guard Jeremy Fears Jr. was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week for the week of January 26 after leading the Spartans to a pair of victories.

Fears averaged 15.5 points and 11.0 assists in Michigan State’s two wins.

His top performance came in a 91–48 victory over Maryland, where he recorded 17 points and a career-best 17 assists, the second-highest assist total in program history. The performance marked the most assists by a Spartan since the program record was set.

Fears followed that effort with 14 points and five assists in Michigan State’s 68–52 road win at Oregon, helping the Spartans complete the week unbeaten.

The honor is the first Big Ten Player of the Week award of Fears’ career and the first for Michigan State Spartans men's basketball since Aaron Henry earned the distinction on March 8, 2021.

Fears shared the weekly honor with Illinois freshman Keaton Wagler. The Big Ten announced the awards Monday as part of its weekly men’s basketball honors.
