Home Stretch: No. 1 Michigan State Hockey hosts Notre Dame
After a week off, the top-ranked Spartans hockey team returns to play looking to close out a third straight Big Ten Championship

With six games remaining in the regular season, the No. 1 Michigan State hockey team begins its push for a third straight Big Ten championship tonight with a home series against last-place Notre Dame at Munn Arena.
The Spartans were idle last weekend after taking four of six points from Michigan the previous week. They now sit four points behind the Wolverines but hold two games in hand, giving them full control of the conference race.
Michigan State will play four straight home games against Notre Dame and Ohio State before closing the regular season on the road at Minnesota. All three opponents currently occupy the bottom three spots in the Big Ten standings and sit well outside the NCAA tournament picture.
