Penn State football interim head coach Terry M. Smith addressed the media on Wednesday evening ahead of the team’s first stop on their road trip against Iowa.
1. Practice Was Canceled On Sunday
After Franklin was relieved of his duties, Franklin and Smith both had a few minutes to “address the team,” Smith said. Due to the locker room being “emotional,” Smith canceled practice. He also mentioned that meetings were canceled that day. On Monday, Smith and the coaching staff met individually with many of the players “to try to calm them down and give them a voice” in order to allow them “to express themselves.” Smith explained that the purpose of this was for the players to “get some things off their chests and speak [their] mind.”
