Trav’s Ten Takeaways: USC
W Through Injuries:
Heck of a win. Not that SC didn’t have some injuries themselves, but to score 42 while down WR1, WR2, WR3 and C, LT, RT is a credit to our entire program. I was so impressed that we were able to bring in our 5th and 6th tackles and still play winning football. Mind you, it wasn’t running out the clock, we aired it out on 3rd and 2 after losing Harkey and Dante ripped a TD with a clean pocket. McClellan and Benson both continued to step up out wide, and the versatility at TE that both Sadiq and Johnson provide has been massive. Having Tight Ends that run like receivers and block like offensive linemen sure is nice. This game really didn’t need to be this close at times, but to play a B-level game, down a bunch of players results in a loss for most programs across the country. Huge credit to Dan and our entire offensive staff for getting guys ready to play, scheming things open and still finding a way to put 42 points on the board.
