Trav’s Ten Takeaways: Wisconsin

  1. Dante: A bit uneven again, but I felt better about his performance than I did leaving the stadium on Saturday. If there is one thing we know about Moore at this point, he needs a bit of a rhythm to get going, and unfortunately we didn’t get him there until late in the first half. Before he could build on that, his night was over after taking a hit to the nose. Moore is proving to be the type of QB that needs to rip a few early passes, and that locks him in for the rest of the game. We weren’t able to get him that opportunity Saturday, and you could tell he got a bit antsy in the pocket and struggled with some of the conditions. His clock still seems a bit sped up at times, and we’ve got to get him back to feeling comfortable hanging in the pocket and delivering the ball down the field. Iowa will test him, more on that below, so Coach Stein and the staff have a week and a half to find a plan that will set us up for success early in Iowa City. Moore knows the offense well, and can make every throw required to be an elite player for us, but we will need A-Level Dante to accomplish what we want in November.
